Book the 10-minute intro
For charging station manufacturers

Every charging station needs a payment display. Develop one, or license the one already in the field.

The OmniDisplay comes as a kit with hardware, firmware and PC software. It speaks Modbus RTU over RS-485. Your controller sends values, the display draws the QR code, the icons and the fonts itself.

The decision

Developing it in house.
Or licensing it.

Developing it in houseLicensing from InTallyCon
Time to market
In houseTwelve to twenty-four months.

Schematic, layout, firmware, EMC, field testing. Then the first revision.

LicensedWeeks.

The design exists and runs. You integrate it into your controller.

Engineering cost
In houseA hardware engineer and a firmware engineer.

Both tied up for the whole period, and afterwards for maintenance.

LicensedOne licence fee.

The figure is on this page. No quote process, no per unit fee.

Field risk
In houseYour first revision is the field test.

Every fault surfaces at a customer site, not on your bench.

LicensedAlready in the field.

The reader runs in over a thousand charging stations today.

Certification
In houseYou carry it alone.

EMC, safety and the paperwork sit entirely on your side.

LicensedYou still carry it.

But you start from a design that has already been through it.

What you own
In houseEverything, eventually.

Including every revision, every erratum and every night of debugging.

LicensedAs much as you licence.

Production only, or with the hardware files, or with the firmware sources.

Questions

Before you book the call.

01Does it work with our charge controller?
It speaks Modbus RTU over RS-485. Your controller sends values, the display renders the QR code, the icons and the fonts itself. No graphics stack on the controller.
02How does the ad-hoc payment QR code work?
The display generates the QR code dynamically from the values your controller sends. What the code points to depends on your backend.
03What is in the kit?
Hardware, firmware and the PC software you configure the display with. The full list is in the product card above.
04Can we get exclusivity?
Yes, through a buy-out. The price is under each licence table.
05Can you adapt it to our enclosure or our protocol?
Yes. Layout and firmware changes are offered hourly or at a fixed price. Bring it to the intro.
06What does it cost?
The licence prices are on this page, by tier and scope. The intro is free, the deep dive is 250 USD per lesson and half of it is credited against a licence.
07What does non-bootstrapped delivery mean?
The reader is delivered in non-bootstrapped mode. What that means for your production line is part of the deep dive. Wording to be confirmed by Carsten.
08Do you also offer a reader?
Yes. The RFBT001 comes from the same house, uses the same bus and runs in over a thousand charging stations. There is a bundle price for reader and display in the second table above. See the reader page.
Next step

Ten minutes. Then you know.

A short call with Carsten. You tell him what you are building, he tells you whether this fits. If it does not, he will say so.
